ZF Off-Highway Product Guide (Form Number 80-950-006)
This is our introductory catalog for ZF Off-Highway Solutions Minnesota Inc. products. It provides product photos and brief descriptions of the product portfolio offerings in brakes, brake actuation, valves, and controls.
Electronic
Electronic
ZF offers electrohydraulic components, which include a variety of electronic pedal configurations and sensing options, digital valve drivers, and a variety of electrohydraulic brake valves. Typical applications for these products are drive-by-wire, electrohydraulic braking, machines with multiple operator stations, remote control operation, or propel and inching pedals for hydrostatic drive systems. In throttle applications, the pedal can be configured to interface directly to the engine's electronic control unit.
Electronic Pedals
Designed for use in electrohydraulic brake and/or electronic throttle control applications. Provides force feedback proportional to pedal rotation. A rotary sensor provides one or more analog outputs that are proportional to pedal rotation. A variety of pedal configurations and sensing options are available.

- Reduces operator fatigue by removing hydraulic system noise from the cab of the machine
- Hydraulic valve can be added to the end of the pedal stroke for additional redundancy
- Allows the electrohydraulic valves to be located near the brakes for quicker system response
- Various spring packs are available to suit light to heavy pedal force requirements
Electronic Pedal Configurations
Electronic pedals with brake valve interface are designed for use in electrohydraulic brake and/or electronic throttle control applications. A rotary sensor provides one or more analog outputs that are proportional to pedal rotation. A variety of pedal configurations and sensing options are available.
Typical applications include drive-by-wire, electrohydraulic braking, machines with multiple operator stations, and propel and inching pedals for hydrostatic drive systems. For throttle applications, the pedal sensor can be configured to interface directly to the engine's electronic control unit.

Electronic Pedals
Robust Pedal Design for Demanding Environments
Foot pedal with sensor designed for use in electrohydraulic or throttle applications.
- Provides pedal force feedback proportional to pedal rotation
- Rotary sensor provides one or more analog outputs that are proportional to pedal rotation
- A variety of pedal configurations and sensing options are available

Modulating Brake Valve Configuration
Electronic Pedal with Modulating Brake Valve
The electronic pedal can be mounted to a single or tandem modulating brake valve. Sensor output is used to destroke the transmission and the brake valve applies the brakes when deceleration requirements exceed the transmission's capabilities.

Electrohydraulic Brake Valves
Improved performance and efficiency for braking
ZF's electrohydraulic modulating brake valves are a closed center design used for modulating output pressures in proportion to the input current.
- Minimal components for maximum reliability
- Rapidly fill large brakes without overheating
- More resistant to fluid contaminants and viscosity
- Customizable Solutions
The latest technology for the world's toughest machines
ZF offers a wide variety of electrohydraulic brake valves (EBV) and accessories, each optimized for specific full-power braking applications, including retarding, hill holding, ABS, traction control and stability control.
ZF Electrohydraulic Brake Valves (EBV) are a full power valve for modulating output pressures up to 207 bar (3000 PSI) in proportion to the input current. In a full power brake system, these valves provide hydraulic power for normal and emergency power-off braking for electrohydraulic brake systems, anti-lock brake systems and traction control systems.

Electrohydraulic Brake Valve - Modulating Proportional Brake Valve
The first patented EBV-M design for full power brake systems.
- Simple design with minimal components
- Patented auto relief feature provides high flow capacity

Electrohydraulic Proportional Brake Valve
The patented EBV-M valve makes it easy for customers to insert the device into exisiting full-power braking systems when adding smart braking features.
- Simple design with minimal components
- Rated pressure at all ports of 207 bar (3000 PSI)

Custom Engineered Electrohydraulic Brake Valves Small Changes – Big Impact
Small changes can often have a major impact - just like the addition of a feature to ZF's EBV; features such as retarding, hill holding, ABS, traction control or stability control.

Switches
Switches
ZF offers a complete line of quality switches including pressure, vacuum, temperature, differential, and transducer. Pressure switches are designed for applications that need an electrical connection or disconnection at a predetermined hydraulic pressure. There are a number of designs available in both piston and diaphragm style models. ZF also has a pressure differential switch for sensing pressure in either the front or rear portions of split braking systems. There are factory preset and field adjustable vacuum switch models available. Temperature switches are available in three different types for sensing temperature: bi-metal immersion, snap disc, and bellows mechanism. The transducers are available for use in multiple industry applications.
Customizable to meet specific application requirements
Pressure switches activate a warning which stays on until the brakes are released.
- Resistant to high pressure spikes
- Variety of models with fluid capability to most applications
- Technology for off-highway brake control applications

Pressure Switch High Pressure Piston Style Switch
The ZF Pressure Switches have a robust design specifically for use in hydraulic industrial construction applications. They can be wired for normally open contacts, closed contacts or both.
- Heavy-duty industrial construction
- Pressure setting range from 250 PSI to 3500 PSI
- Monitors hydraulic pressure and either opens or closes an electrical contact at a predetermined pressure

Pressure Differential Switch
High Pressure Spool Style Switch
The ZF pressure differential switch is designed to monitor the differential pressures in split braking systems of large heavy duty machines. It is a replacement for automotive style switches that tend to give a false warning when usied in high pressure applications.
- Ability to customize pressure specifications to a specific application
- Heavy-duty compact design for hydraulic oil systems
